I have been meaning to start one of these blog-thingys for a while now. Meg and Jen are mainly to blame for this along with my lack of creative outlets. Now I am going to rant and rave and cause Internet havoc. Probably not; but I am sure that some odd things will come of me sharing my bizarre happenings of life. On with the show. . .
Mike and I rented Gonzo, a documentary on Hunter S. Thompson the other night and I was very impressed. For the two people that may possibly read this, Hunter S. Thompson was a great journalist and covered a wide array of topics. His most famous work is obviously Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He rode with the Hell's Angels for a period of time and covered the election of 1972. Read some of his stuff if you ever get the chance, I find him very interesting and pretty comical at most times. He has a good perspective on a lot of issues.
One of favorite quotes from him is, "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." Seriously, check his stuff out. The documentary was extremely interesting, I suggest starting with that. It gives good insight into what the man was about. I actually bought the autobiography Gonzo for Mike a few months ago and I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Mike loved it, and he never reads.
